In the UK there are now a number of electricity suppliers that offer a renewable energy tariffs. Currently, only two companies supply "100% renewable" energy - Ecotricity and Good Energy, but other companies include varying quantities of renewables in their fuel mix.

Switching to either of these two suppliers could have a significant positive effect on your carbon footprint.

Renewables – Gas

Energy supplier Good Energy offers a renewable "Green Gas" tariff where 6% of their gas comes from biomethane: gas produced from organic matter – like manure and sewage.

They promise to also offset to make their gas 100% carbon neutral. If you are on Good Energy's "Green Gas" tariff enter "100" in the "From renewables" box.
